On Thursday, March 2nd, our team visited the 7th school since the inception of Art for a Cause. The school visited was Baptist Academy Primary School, Obanikoro complex, Obanikoro Junction for the 5th edition. Located along Ikorodu expressway, the school has a population of 150 students.
We had volunteers from ambercircle, artists, Shola Animashaaun and his team, friends and the whole Socially Africa team on ground. We started out with prayers led by Sam Uduma before progressing to the activity of the day.
As always, we painted the walls, interacted with the students, played with them, engaged them in educational and fun activities and then gave them gifts.
Joseph above was nominated by his fellow students as of the top artist however, one of the teachers insisted he could not draw. He kept syaing he could draw and when given the chance, he did not disappoint. He drew a neat image of his hero; Superman. James also drew an image of his hero; The incredible Hulk.
Our joy cannot be contained knowing that through Art for a cause, a lot of creativity has been inspired and fostered in children.
The walls which were once bare now seem epic, cos with each splash of the paint brush striking the wall, a new creation exists. The wall lives now. It speaks of hope, dreams, happiness – a voice that will inspire generations.
